Berkeley Civil & 环境工程 offers an ABET-accredited major program in Civil Engineering. Upon completing the four-year curriculum, the student earns a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.

Students are strongly encouraged to meet with their faculty and staff advisers to learn about the full range of academic opportunities available in the CEE Department.

    (Current CEE students—admitted prior to 2018—may choose to follow either the 2018 curriculum or the curriculum of the year of their admittance, but they must adhere to the curriculum in its entirety and not mix requirements.)

In conjunction with the University of California Education Abroad Program (uceap), we in Berkeley CEE have simplified the process for studying abroad and have identified courses available for credit. 

独立研究课程

You can apply to participate in undergraduate research while attending 皇冠体育官网. You can enroll in three 皇冠体育网站 research courses and receive course credit while conducting research under faculty supervision.

  • CE 99 (freshmen and sophomores), graded pass/no pass.
  • CE 199(初级和老人),分级通过/不通过。
  • CE H194 (junior and seniors), letter graded, must have 3.3 upper division GPA. The title page of your project containing the signature of the supervising faculty adviser is due at the end of the semester.

CE 199 has variable units (1-4) and may be repeated for credit. Course is taken on a pass/not pass basis only and does not count towards meeting the BS degree requirements. You must have completed at least 60 units of undergraduate work and be in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or above) to register for this course.

  2. Fill out the upper part of the 应用. Write clearly and include e-mail address.
  3. Have the faculty sponsor you plan to do research with fill out and sign the lower part of the 应用.
  4. Bring the completed 应用 to 750 Davis Hall to obtain the course control number.

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the 应用.



To participate in CE H194 you must have a GPA of 3.3 or higher in your upper division technical course work and the consent of the instructor. The course is taken for a letter grade, and may be taken twice, but can be used only once towards degree requirements. A final report is required.

  1. Pick up an 应用 from outside the Academic Affairs Office, 750 Davis Hall, or 线上。
  2. Fill out the upper part of the 应用. Write clearly and include e-mail address.
  3. Have the faculty sponsor you plan to do research with fill out and sign the lower part of the 应用.
  4. Attach an unofficial copy of your transcript to the 应用 to verify your 3.3 upper division GPA.
  5. Bring the completed 应用 to 750 Davis Hall to obtain the course control number.
  6. 工作完成后,完成 CE h194扉页 and submit it to the CEE 大学本科 Adviser in 750 Davis Hall.

大学本科 Students taking 毕业 课程 in CEE

大学本科 students need permission to take a graduate-level course in CEE. Complete the 应用.  (Use only your upper division technical courses in the GPA calculator; the department requires a 3.0 GPA in order to take graduate level classes.)  Submit the completed and signed 应用, a GPA worksheet and a copy of your academic summary (printed from CalCentral) to 750 Davis Hall.

If you meet the requirements and if there is space in the class, Julia Konopasek will send you a permission code to enroll after the first week of class. Note: 毕业 Students have priority.  Turn your 应用 in early; first come, first served.
